Daniel Tovar, born in 1993 in Guayaquil, Ecuador, has a degree in Visual Arts from the University of the Arts. In addition, he has studied at the Technological Institute of the Arts of Ecuador (ITAE) and at the Juan José Plaza School of Fine Arts.
Daniel Tovar's artistic production focuses on the reflection of notions related to individual and collective freedom, as well as exploring the use of the image as a means of expression. Through his work, Tovar questions and examines fundamental concepts, inviting the viewer to reflect on their own experience and perception.
As an artist, Daniel Tovar has presented notable solo exhibitions, such as “Colonias devastadas” (2019) and “Ante la fe vana” (2019) at UCSG, as well as “DEKALOG” (2022) at Taller Maldonado. In addition, he has participated in group exhibitions such as “AJÍ” at Galería DPM (2018), “Gen-Errar” at the Nahím Isaías Museum (2019) and “Autre” at Taller Maldonado (2021).
Daniel Tovar's work invites reflection, challenging conventions and exploring new forms of visual communication. His focus on freedom and image makes him a relevant figure in the contemporary Ecuadorian art scene.
